Cardano Q&A recap, 9th October 2026

Friday's Cardano Q&A had new faces on the call, so it doubled as a tour of how Cardano actually works: where the funding comes from, how staking and voting fit together, and what is new this month. Here is the rundown with a link for each topic. It is aimed at anyone newer to Cardano, and at delegators who want the wider picture.
Strike Finance - Hyperliquid copy trading on Cardano perpetuals
https://docs.strikefinance.org/perpetuals/copy-trading
Strike Finance is Cardano's on-chain perpetual futures protocol, and one of the busier applications on the network. Its copy trading feature lets you mirror a lead trader from your Strike account, and that lead can be a Hyperliquid wallet as well as a Strike trader. Trades are only copied where Strike lists the same market. It came up as an example of Cardano DeFi connecting to where the wider market already trades. Perpetuals are leveraged products, so read Strike's documentation before going near them.
Project Catalyst - community-voted funding for Cardano projects
Project Catalyst is Cardano's community innovation fund. Anyone can submit a proposal, ADA holders vote on which ones get funded, and funded teams report against milestones in public. The range is wide, from developer tooling to small businesses in emerging markets. It is also how a good deal of the education work in the ecosystem gets paid for, ours included.
Staking ADA - how delegation works, with no lock-up and no slashing
https://cardano.org/stake-pool-delegation/
Staking on Cardano means delegating your ADA to a stake pool. The ADA never leaves your wallet, it is not locked, and there is no penalty mechanism that can take it from you if a pool performs badly. Rewards follow network activity, so they move over time. The practical point for a newcomer: if you hold ADA and it is not delegated, it is doing nothing for you or for the network.
Cardano governance - ADA holders vote on-chain through dReps
Changes to Cardano's parameters and treasury spending are decided by on-chain vote. Holders delegate their voting power to a delegated representative (dRep), or register as one, and stake pool operators vote on some actions too. That is a real difference from chains where a small group settles changes off-chain. It also means concentration matters: when a lot of stake sits with a few large operators, so does a lot of the vote. Choosing where you delegate is a governance decision as much as a rewards one.
RealFi on Cardano mainnet - a stablecoin backed by real-world lending
RealFi moved from testnet to Cardano mainnet at the start of October. Its stablecoin, USDrf, is backed by a portfolio of real-world lending and money-market assets, with a focus on finance for emerging markets. A native, asset-backed stablecoin gives Cardano DeFi more to build on. Terms, eligibility and how testnet participation carries over are for RealFi to state, so check their own pages for where things stand.
Midnight - the privacy-focused partner chain, now open to any developer
Midnight is the privacy-focused chain that grew out of the Cardano ecosystem. It launched earlier this year, and it has now opened smart contract deployment to any developer rather than a reviewed shortlist. For builders who need to keep some data private while still proving things on-chain, that is the door opening.
Minswap and FluidTokens - working together, with Bitcoin DeFi on Cardano in view
Minswap is Cardano's largest decentralised exchange, and FluidTokens builds lending and Bitcoin-to-Cardano infrastructure. The two have been working together, and between them they are a large part of how Bitcoin holders may come to use Cardano DeFi without handing their coins to a custodian. We will come back to this next week.
SPO Academy - free training for small stake pool operators
SPO Academy is our Catalyst-funded course for people who want to run a stake pool, or run a small one better. More capable independent operators is the direct answer to the concentration point above.
Next week
A practical walkthrough of how Bitcoin holders can put BTC to work on Cardano.
